Our Vision

To glorify God and make Him known
through obedient and committed service
by equipping His people for effective missions and outreach
to Filipinos and the nations.

Our Mission

As we respond to God’s mandate to make disciples of all nations, we are committed to…

Equip foreign missionaries to effectively witness & minister to Filipinos by providing a dynamic culture and language acquisition program.

Serve foreign missionaries by providing a caring and supportive community where they can learn the language and culture in an atmosphere of mutual trust and a common goal.

Help equip Filipino churches and workers for cross-cultural partnerships with foreign missions
by providing cultural orientation, assistance as interpreters, and help with other ministry related needs.

Equip Filipino missionaries serving in foreign & local missions by providing initial orientation and basic training on culture and language acquisition.

Serve as a bridge that links the culture and language learners with the community by providing opportunities to demonstrate a faithful witness and extend service to the community.

As we serve, we also endeavor to…

Promote spiritual growth and leadership development of the Filipino mentors by providing a venue to know more, better understand and appreciate our own culture in order to better serve and equip others for missions and outreach to the nations.

History

In April 1993, ten mission organizations co-founded a facility in Metro Manila, called Philippine Evangelical Language Center (PELC), for the purpose of training expatriate missionaries in the Filipino language and culture. When PELC closed down in December 1995, four of the teachers decided to keep on teaching, mainly to help a number of students who were in the middle of the course to finish their studies. What they thought would only be about six months work in 1996 continued on up to the present.

Nenette Cada who was Head Teacher at the time acted as coordinator with Dess Ventura, R’deen Rojas and Phil Magsakay as team members.

Today, 13 years after it was founded, His Name-Shem Adonai Language Team has a regular team of 5.
